A BIT ABOUT SOMATIC PATHWAYS WEST
Do you struggle to "get out of your head" or do you feel disconnected from your body? Do you often experience a general sense of unease, confusion or other distressing sensations? Have you felt a sense of anxiety from your body, maybe as if it’s trying to tell you something, but you can’t quite connect the dots? Are you interested in learning how you might utilize your body as a meditation space to help you better understand your needs, desires, limitations, and boundaries and to direct your choices and life? Or have you ever practiced meditation or yoga asana but felt overwhelmed or like you wanted more personalized support?
These are just a few of the questions our work may begin to address. It’s easy in our world to move our bodies around and through our lives without being particularly aware of them until they are hurting. For all kinds of reasons—personal and collective—we often learn to let the body be an afterthought and in doing so, miss the opportunity to hear the ways it speaks our experience to us throughout the day. At Somatic Pathways West we believe that because our bodies are with us always and are arguably the only thing we can truly possess in our life, that we must invest time and energy into learning to listen to our experience within them and how best to respond from them in ways that support our wellbeing.
We are here to help you tune in. Somatic Pathways West offers Somatic Coaching and Movement Training to support you in exploring your mind-body connection. Your specific experience, needs and goals will help determine which option is best for you. Please reach out if you have questions, or would like help deciding which kind of support would best suit your needs.
